Avenue F Reunion Game

  1. You know it's interesting that Inky was the one who grabbed me at the 2005 reunion game, where he made an appearance but couldn't play, and asked me what ever happened to the slides I took and used to show at awards nites at the old 70 PYC hall. He thought it would be cool to see some of those shots again. Well, his request finally got me digging through some old metal boxes of slides going back to the early 70's and there they were. Then to bring the images into the 21st century my brother Neil and some of his folks took on the task of digitizing them. Lo and behold we all have something to take us back to a simpler time in our lives. I think it is really appropriate that we take this opportunity to remember Inky and the others we have lost from that era in our lives and I want to thank Inky myself for getting me off my duff and getting these images out there where more of us can enjoy them.

  3. The time is upon us gents....I KNOW a lot of you read Ronnie's blog and if you are like me, you've checked this hockey blog more than once this week. I realize too that a lot of you are unsure of whether you can still skate and not kill yourselves...all I can ask is what Ronnie has said before - come down and give it a try. These scrimmages (there won't be refs or timekeepers) are all about just trying to recapture a little of your youth without having to be competitive - we are all out for a little fun, nobody is going to care if you stumble, or need to take 16 breaks or have to leave after a half-hour. They say that every journey starts with one step - this is your one step. Most of us have let ourselves go as we hit our 40s and 50s...maybe a little skating will serve you well. Pat DeSimone is coming up from Florida and Josh Seff from Texas...I'd be real disappointed if we can't get some of the metropolitan area guys to show up. And if you can't (or won't) skate, show up anyway - this week or another Sunday (we are trying to have something every two weeks even though once a month would be fine). It won't be as organized as Louie DiBiase's and Mike Potts' memorial game to Fred, but what the hell...it is hockey the way WE used to play it in the 70s. See you Sunday.
